We’ve tried to provide brief answers to the most common questions we get asked about our products and services. If there’s anything else you’d like to know prior to booking a design consultation, feel free to get in touch.
Yes. A free design consultation is a great way to get started on purchasing your bespoke furniture. Currently, we ask for a 50% deposit and request that the balance is paid on completion of the installation.
In the unlikely event of any issues occurring, please let us know immediately and we will send the installation team back to rectify the problem. Only when we have a successful installation will we ask you for the balance on the order to be paid.
All items manufactured by Mirror Image come with a 10-year warranty. We are only able to pass on our suppliers guarantee of 6 years on the vinyl wrapped doors.
The best way to get started is to book a design consultation to chat through your ideas with one of our experts.
The majority of the furniture is pre-made by skilled artisans craftspeople in our Norwich workshop. We’ll typically make parts slightly oversized to allow us to cut and shape products to the exact contours of your room. Inevitably there will be some dust and sawdust created in the installation process, but we will clean and vacuum the area we are working in prior to finishing.
Yes, we have done this numerous times for customers who absolutely love their wardrobe and want to reuse the same doors! We will need additional parts, as the furniture is individually made and shaped to fit perfectly to the room it currently sits in. But there are elements that we can recycle saving you money.
We can’t always guarantee an exact match as some pieces may be older and fashions may have changed. However, our designers can offer options that will blend in or complement your existing furniture.
A freestanding wardrobe will necessarily have a large gap at the top where it has been manoeuvred into place, and a space at the back where it buffers the skirting board. By contrast, a fitted wardrobe offers full use of space, from floor to ceiling and wall to wall, you’ll make use of all available space!
Our fitted wardrobes are manufactured from Medium Density Fibre board (MDF) and Melamine Face Particle Board (MFP/MFC).
Yes, wardrobes come with an interior hanging rail and shelf as standard. But you can choose to customise the interiors to match the requirements of your storage needs.
Yes, please. We’ll need the space itself and access cleared in order to work in your room. Giving us space to work in your room helps us complete the job on schedule.
Typically, 1-4 days, depending on the size of the job and the number of rooms.
Yes, absolutely. You can work with our designer to create a completely unique wardrobe that perfectly matches your decor.
Yes, but remember you are paying for quality! Our wardrobes are custom built and tailored to the individual’s needs, as opposed to a mass produced product of standard dimensions.
A fitted wardrobe should be treated with care and respect, as you would any nice pieces of furniture in your home. As they gather dust, give them a wipe down with a damp cloth. Mirrors can be kept sparkling and smear-free with a vinegar based cleaning spray.
Yes, but as time moves on and fashions and trends change, it is not always possible to match exactly if you leave it until years later.
Not necessarily, it will however allow you to ask for the maximum price within the price range of your type of home in your area. Fitted furniture will enhance your home and make it more attractive to purchase over a neighbouring property that has not been fitted out.
Yes, absolutely! Fitting wardrobes to irregularly shaped rooms constitutes 50% of our business!
We currently have an average lead time of 6-8 weeks. The lead time is a reflection of how busy we are and how many customers are already in the manufacturing queue ahead of your potential order. Our lead times have been as long as 14 weeks during busy periods!
The doors don’t open into the room so sliding wardrobes are ideal for tight spaces between the wardrobe and the bed. Also, personal preference and fashion. Sliding wardrobes are also a little cheaper than fitted hinged door wardrobes.
Within reason. Fitting wardrobes to irregularly shaped rooms constitutes 50% of our business! And sliding door wardrobes are no different. One exception would be steeply angled roof spaces where the physical space determines that tall sliding doors are impractical - but chat to our designers about other options!
Materials and finishes that we work with include: glass, aluminium, steel, Medium Density Fibre board (MDF) and Melamine Face Particle board (MFP/MFC)
Actually, they typically work out a little cheaper.
Very! We have instances where we have revisited customers to measure up for additional rooms and they have shown us their sliding wardrobes from 20+ years ago still going strong.
All of our wardrobes are custom built, so choose any interior layout you desire. Sliding wardrobes come with an interior hanging rail and shelf as standard. But you can choose to customise the interiors to match the requirements of your storage needs.
We do everything we can to ensure this, including an anti-jump mechanism on the wheels. So long as you keep the tracks clean, and don’t force the doors if you encounter an obstruction, the doors should stay on the tracks.
The best maintenance advice we can give is to vacuum the bottom track regularly and keep the wardrobe dust free by giving it the occasional wipe with a damp cloth.
Sliding wardrobes can be manufactured within 3-4 weeks. However, lead times can be slightly longer than this. The lead time is a reflection of how busy we are and how many customers are already in the manufacturing queue ahead of your potential order.
In most instances we can work out a way to do this. Chat to our designer about your options.
Yes. As part of the design process, you’ll be invited to select your panel options.
The sliding wardrobe needs to be a little deeper than a hinge door wardrobe to allow for the thickness of the track. Ultimately they can fit in smaller rooms because you don’t have to allow space for the doors to swing open into the room.

We can 100% do this and it makes for a very appealing set up.
A home office is typically a multifunctional area in your home. They will typically incorporate a desk area to facilitate you when working from home, but you can also opt for your own filing and day-to-day planning areas. Shelving in your home office can function as a library and display unit for trophies, hobbies and family photos - making a good backdrop for those Zoom meetings!
Yes, absolutely, your fitted home office is fully made-to-measure and customised to incorporate only those elements that you require for your home working space.
Our units are manufactured from Medium Density Fibre board (MDF) and Melamine Faced Particle board (MFP/MFC).
Typically 1-3 days depending on the size and complexity of the installation.

Typically, a media wall is a lounge or living room display unit which incorporates your television and perhaps other multimedia devices such as games consoles or music players. Shelving can also be incorporated to serve as a display unit for ornaments, photos and trophies.
Yes, media walls are fully bespoke.
Materials and finishes that we work with include: glass, aluminium, steel, Medium Density Fibre board (MDF) and Melamine Face Particle board (MFP/MFC)
Yes, absolutely! One of the key benefits of a properly constructed media wall is having all your cables properly managed and tidily running where they are not in view.
Yes, this is often a key request, helping you to set the correct ambience for the room when watching TV or gaming.
Absolutely. And many people have commented what a relief it is to have professionals taking responsibility for mounting their large and expensive screen, rather than risking doing it themselves!
Similar to Home Offices - you can incorporate cupboards, drawers, shelving, including adjustable shelving.
Yes, no problem. At your free design consultation, our designer will take note of what media units you wish to incorporate into your wall and adjust the designs accordingly.
As with all installations, this will depend on the size and complexity, but typically 1-2 days.
With an intelligent approach to design, they can be suitable for any spaces.
A typical installation costs between £3,000 and £4,000.
Not really, as always we advise customers to respect their furniture and keep it dust free by wiping over with a damp cloth.
The media wall will be custom built with your current devices as a size reference. At your request, we can build in some redundancy, that is: build spaces in your media wall slightly larger than you currently require, then if you upgrade to a larger television it should still fit. You should discuss this with your designer at your initial consultation.
Yes this is a great feature of media walls in general. They can include shelving where you can make a statement about yourself.
We purchase our materials from companies with environmentally sound practices.
Wires are hidden behind the units and false walls/backing. Games consoles and other media devices can be connected up but hidden behind doors when they don’t need to be accessed.
